James 2:1-5
1 My brethren, have not the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord of glory, with respect of persons.
2 For if there come unto your assembly a man with a gold ring, in goodly apparel, and there come in also a poor man in vile raiment;
3 And ye have respect to him that weareth the gay clothing, and say unto him, Sit thou here in a good place; and say to the poor, Stand thou there, or sit here under my footstool:
4 Are ye not then partial in yourselves, and are become judges of evil thoughts?
5 Hearken, my beloved brethren, Hath not God chosen the poor of this world rich in faith, and heirs of the kingdom which he hath promised to them that love him?
Branduin says 'this chapter opens by taking about showing partiality'

James 1:9-11
9 Let the brother of low degree rejoice in that he is exalted:
10 But the rich, in that he is made low: because as the flower of the grass he shall pass away.
11 For the sun is no sooner risen with a burning heat, but it withereth the grass, and the flower thereof falleth, and the grace of the fashion of it perisheth: so also shall the rich man fade away in his ways.
Branduin says 'as most of you may remember, James is teaching the Christians of the dispersion'
Branduin says 'Christians who for one reason or another were dispersed thruout the world'
Branduin says 'so he is telling Christians how it is that we should act in various situtaions'
Branduin says 'so all of us can take his words to heart'

Redfieldt says 'more than id like'
Nemch says 'all the time'
Branduin nods.
Branduin agrees absolutely.
Branduin says 'so he is reminding us not to be as the world is'
Branduin says 'not to hold sacred the things that the world does such as wealth or position'

Branduin nods sagely.
Nemch nods.
Angie says 'some more so than others'
Branduin says 'and do you find that it is hard for the church to accept them back?'
Nemch says 'sometimes'
Angie says 'some churches don't have forgiveness'
Branduin says 'don't we tend to build up in ourselves a picture of a person and keep it as a prejudice at times?'
Branduin nods at Angie.
Nemch nods at Branduin.
Redfieldt says 'that is what james was trying to prevent'
Branduin says 'so as individuals as well as memebers of a community, we are to try to curb that with all that is in our power'

Branduin says 'prejudice'
Branduin says 'did you know that prejudice is judging a person before you even know them?'
Branduin says 'just by appearance or something'
Branduin says 'and is that right in any context?'
Angie says 'i get that a lot at churches'
Branduin says 'tell us a little about that angie if you don't mind ;)'
Branduin smiles softly at Angie, showing the love of Christ in her eyes.
Branduin listens intently to Angie.
Angie says 'i don't own macy's finest clothes and stuff and people at church treat me differently cuz of it'
Branduin says 'and if i may ask, how does that make you feel?'
Redfieldt says 'I wear walmarts finest fashions too angie'
Angie says 'or cuz i don't know a lot of scriptures by heart'
Branduin nods.
Angie says 'i feel tossed out like garbage'
Branduin nods.
Branduin comforts Angie.
Nemch says 'angie i walk up in church looking like abum sometimes. I care not what others think'
Branduin says 'and does that help your relationship with god?'
Angie says 'it helps me feel far away from God'
Branduin nods.
Redfieldt says 'somtimes it hurts bad nemch we being guys can shrug it off more than girls can somtimes'
Branduin says 'i have felt the same way too'
Nemch says 'I know'
Branduin says 'but nemch has a point too we have to learn to honor God rather than men'
Branduin says 'and remember that God cares not what we wear'
Branduin says 'but it is sooooo difficult at times'
Branduin smiles softly at Angie, showing the love of Christ in her eyes.
Nemch says 'right'
Jotham says 'yes but the church is the one spot where people are suppose to be able to come as they are and not be judged as this passage in james is saying'
Branduin nods.
Redfieldt says 'we he cares we are not supposed to wear sensual stuff but that is a whole diffrent topic'
Branduin says 'you are so right jotham'
Branduin nods at Redfieldt.
Branduin pats Redfieldt on his head.
Nemch says 'its something you have to ask Gods help for.'
Branduin says 'and it hurts doubly bad when a church is a respector of persons :/'
Nemch says 'I gave up trying to please others. Its impossible'
Branduin says 'but we must start with ourselves'
Branduin nods at Nemch.
Angie says 'i don't go to church in this town'
Branduin says 'so here something we can learn is two things'
Branduin says 'first we don't need to judge others'
Angie says 'but i pray and i come here'
Nemch says 'Just focus on Chirst and know that no matter what some jerk may think, Christ loves you nd deeply cares for you'
Nemch says 'see look. now i'm doing it, calling people jerks :/'

2 For if there come unto your assembly a man with a gold ring, in goodly apparel, and there come in also a poor man in vile raiment;
3 And ye have respect to him that weareth the gay clothing, and say unto him, Sit thou here in a good place; and say to the poor, Stand thou there, or sit here under my footstool:
4 Are ye not then partial in yourselves, and are become judges of evil thoughts?
Jotham says 'The LORD does not look at the things man looks at. Man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart."'
Branduin says 'angie was sharing the hurt that she feels and we all feel when judged by our appearances ;)'
Angie says 'the heart is what counts'
Nemch says 'its very hurtful because we desire the aproval of our fellow man. But that is where we mess up, we seek the aproval of others when we should be caring what God thinks'
Branduin nods.
Jotham says '1 sam 16:7'
~Verse to Room from Branduin~
Branduin says, 'ooOOooOOooOOoo.'
Branduin claps at Jotham's performance.

Jotham says 'first set the example'
Branduin agrees absolutely.
Angie says 'pray for them too'
Branduin nods.
Jotham says 'actions are louder then words or as james puts it faith with out works is dead'
Branduin says 'and possibly keep on keeping on in the face of such judgement?'
Branduin says 'that is the hard part'
Branduin says 'i must admit angie i resonate with what you are saying '

~Verse to Room from Jotham~
2_corinthians 4:7-10
7 But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.
8 We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair;
9 Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed;
10 Always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body.
Redfieldt boldly proclaims 'Amen!'
Branduin smiles happily.
Redfieldt says 'one of my favorite verses'
Branduin says 'so hopefully angie one of these days you will feel comfortable enough to go back to church in your hometown and not feel looked down upon'
Branduin says 'yes it is a bad thing for them to do'
Branduin says 'but it is also a bad thing that it drives a wedge between you and that congregation'
Branduin nods sagely.
Redfieldt says 'better for a millstone to be hung around thier neck and cast into the sea'
Branduin nods.
Branduin says 'well too reddy we will let the Lord hand out that punishment ;)'
Redfieldt says 'yep'
Redfieldt says 'Vengance is his'
Angie says 'the people in this town don't like us anyway cuz we are outsiders'
Branduin says 'and possibly by going and being part of the fellowship we can help them grow in their relationship to Christ'
Redfieldt says 'that is possible'
Redfieldt says 'but'
Branduin says 'yes Angie but God loves you :)'
Branduin says 'doesn't matter what people think ;)'
Angie nods.
Redfieldt says 'some are us four and no more'
Redfieldt says 'they don't want to change'
Angie says 'and you guys love me...i hope'
Branduin smiles happily.
