Cyto says 'one part is sometimes obeying silly things requires strength, but there's aanother reason i think'

Barek says 'because sometimes when you obey God you need to be strong spiritually i do not think that strong is meant physically in the text'

Cyto says 'sometimes people might do something just because they want to assert their power or just because it amuses them, But God does things because they are GOOD'

Cyto says 'Since God only does Good things, any order that he gives us....'
Barek says 'it may seem silly at first...but God is not silly...and if it gets hard  we just need to remember he's still there and will help.....Because God never changes.......and we must also remember that all his plans are perfect...Because God is perfect....everything happens in His perfect way'

Cyto says 'So if God told us to obey those in authority over us....what would that have to do with being strong'

Barek says 'well...you could absolutely despise the person ....but if God commands obey them then you must be spiritually strong to say "Alright God...I'll obey even though i don't like this person one bit..."'
Barek says 'but even when you like or even love the person I.E. My Sister....'
Barek says 'You need to be spiritually strong to obey them because sometimes you don't want to obey them because her order seems to be stupid....but God commanded you '
Cyto says 'so what do you know about the outcome of obeying them if God told you you should obey them'
Barek says 'well...not only do you NOT get into trouble from disobeying them (been there done that it not a pretty site with sis) but you make God happy and you get rewarded when you go to heaven'

Cyto says 'if God only tells people to do Good things, and He tells you to obey, then even if the order seems silly (from the person), obeying will result in Good things'
Cyto says 'not just good things in that youll get rewarded'

Cyto says 'you can reward a dog for sniffing a tree, but that doesn't make a good or bad idea'

Cyto says 'so we need to know that when God tells us to obey, not only will we be rewarded by Him, but obeying will actually have a Good result'

Cyto says 'i don't mean reward i mean as in normal day to day, doing something good results in a good thing, like going to work results in a pay check, hammering a bird house together results in birds in your back yard'

Cyto says 'so what we need to understand about God is that Obeying Him results in good things for us, we might not always see them, in fact we may obey God and a lot of bad things will happen, in fact thats often the case'

Cyto says 'we have faith in god because we have seen evidence that he's real so we trust that when he says something its true so that even when we do what he says and bad things happen we have confidense that he is working all things for good for those who love him and do his will, we may not see it, ,and it may not even show up within our lifetime, but ultimately we need to have confidense that doing what God said is the best decision'

Cyto says 'okay the opposite of that  is that not doing God's will results in separation from him, Bad consequences (birds not coming around) and bad eternal consequences, in fact what we do can even affect OTHER people'

Barek says 'your sister tells you to go clean your room and you don't....you just sit there.....you either get punished the "old fashined way" or grounded.....Bad consequences...could also be applied here'

Cyto says 'teh consequences i'm talking about are more like your room is such a mess that you lose your gameboy and can't find it till you clean it up'
Cyto says 'I actually lost my phone for 3 months and my ipod for almost as long till i cleaned up a bit'
Cyto says 'not because anyone took it away from me just cuz it was under a pile of clothes'
Barek says 'ahhhhh or an MP3 player'

Cyto says 'those are grown up consequences, see your sister and stuff might spank your for not cleaning your room now, but thats so when you get older you'll get cleaning your room regularly and won't have to pay 240 dollars in cellphone bills for a phone you weren't using'

Cyto says 'or even worse you'll find the girlies will be less inclined to date you if your room is a total stye'

Cyto says 'my point is that if a girl comes over and sees you live in a room that looks like a landfill they may think twice about marriage'

Barek says 'BTW you remember Jessie the nice christian girl i told you about?? .......well we "tied the knot" two weeks ago....and since then we go to a dance club on saturday nights (it's 70's night they play disco music and all the guys are wearing disco suits lol) '
Cyto says 'if you knew a dude who had his life totally organized, got a great job got good grades and was very attractive to the girs because of it, who made time to exercsie, and took time to pray, and kept himself from things that could harm him, would you call him strong or weak'

Cyto says 'and if you knew a dude who spent all his time playing games watching tv, fantasizing about girls and not spending enough time on study so getting average grades, would that be strong or weak'

Barek says 'i know a guy like that...and none of the girls like like him'
Cyto says 'right if you don't spend time on the things that exercise you you don't get strong, and are less able to survive, get married or any of those good things, and your less able to serve God'

Cyto says 'intelligence is good, and you can ride on your intelligence to an extent, but i'm talking about work and obedience here'

Cyto says 'what does obedience have to do with being strong'
Barek says 'the more obidient you are the stronger you are and the stronger you are the farther you'll go in life'

Cyto says 'okay why will being obedient make you stronger, i mean what if your boss tells you to spend five hours bouncing a basketball off your chest while whistling, how would htat make you stronger'
Barek says 'well.....it wouldn't really'

Barek says 'well...it'll make your lungs stronger and maybe your chest muscles a littlee bit...'
Cyto says 'God told us to obey all authorities'
Cyto says 'our boss is our authority, and obeying him is by default Good because God said it was'

Cyto says 'However he said it was for a reason, so we need to understand How it is Good'
Barek says 'any boss we need to obey...something i really need to work on.......'

Cyto says 'so we're supposed to obey our boss, now what good can possibly come from bouncing this basketball on our chest and whistling for five hours, knowing that there actually IS some good from it, since God tells us to do everything for a reason'
Barek says 'it'll show that we are willing to obey no matter what the order'
Cyto says 'which will be helpful how?'
Barek says 'whistling....it'll make our lungs stronger so we can talk about God longer '

Cyto says 'well there may or may not be some actual benefit from the tasks themselves'

Cyto says 'but the act of doing them teaches us patience and submission'

Cyto says 'and our attitude and obedience  is a good witness and perhaps God will use it  to speak to the boss'

Cyto says 'We obey as unto God, so if its not something God could ever allow us to do and remain righteous, its not obeying God if we do it'

Cyto says 'and as you get older you may learn how sometimes its unrighteous to agree to everything someone says for less obvious things, where  when agreeing to what they want is allowing them to remain in a pattern of dysfunction, but thats a bit much till you've seen a bit more'

Cyto says 'i'll give you an example though, its not righteous to just stand their and let your boss curse you out day after day when you could stop it by just talking to him'

Cyto says 'the process of christianity is a process of sanctification, that is God works on us slowly, so we get a bit better everyday, if we're folliowing him the way we should, but its not immediate, so don't beat up on yourself, just trust God to help you, cuz the only way we can be better is by him giving us the power to do so, so instead of being mad at yourself, which has its place but just follow God and have confidence that he will grow you'

Cyto says 'the 12 steps start out by saying we acknowledge that we are powerless to overcome our addictions and that they are destroying our lives'
